JOE PETE JAMS on YouTube

Check out the JOE PETE JAMS channel on YouTube. Here are a couple to get you started.

JOE PETE + 6is9 (band)

This Little Light of Mine

This clip was filmed 1/10/26 by our drummer friend (and sometime band member) Clark Goodpaster. It was taken at Remnant-Satellite, a great neighborhood place in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Joe Pete on guitar and vocals is joined by Brian Rost on bass and Richard Malcolm on drums. Our friend Steve Maggs is sitting in with us on rubboard.

Besides being a good gig with nice audience response, this video is a good example of what Roots Rock Jams means. The song, This Little LIght of Mine, is an old one, so there you have your roots. And our version rocks, rockabilly I’d say in this case, so you’ve got your rock. And finally, it has a jamming improv section in it too, so it jams. There it is, it’s all there. Roots Rock Jams.

Thank you, Clark.

Joe Pete is 3’N1 (solo)

Tore Up

This is an old video now—it’s from 2/23/2019—but I still like it. It captures a slice of solo Joe Pete (3’N1) at the Somerville Winter Farmers’ Market. The song is Hank Ballard’s Tore Up, but to Joe Pete it’s a Sleepy la Beef song, who used to tear it up on this one.

Seniors

If I Had a Hammer

Since spring of 2022, Joe Pete has been playing guitar and singing for senior audiences. A surprising (to Joe Pete) chunk of the regular repertoire fits right in, with only minor adjustment to energy and volume levels. If I Had a Hammer is an example of that. Working for seniors has been very enjoyable and satisfying work

Hubcaps

I Don’t Believe You’ve Met My Baby

The Hubcaps are the prototype for Joe Pete’s band 6is9, which is why this video is included here. They played the Plough & Stars, but this video is from the later era when they were playing outside Fenway Park before Red Sox games. Joe Pete is on guitar and vocals, Mickey Bones (band leader and sometime 6is9 member) is on drums, and Matt Murphy is on bass. This is a really nice video put together by Anthony Quinn Visuals. Big League Brian is on stilts, amazing as always.
