Joe Pete’s son Ben has his Ben Wetherbee Honky Tonk Band. Joe Pete played the very first gig, but encouraged Ben to get someone of his own generation to do the ongoing work. Troy Thibault Caruana has been doing a great job on guitar with Ben and is a real nice guy to boot. But he happened to not be available for this gig and Joe Pete was pleased to be asked to fill in.
The band is really quite good, all the players are excellent and they’re all good people too. And they have pedal steel no less! I’d list all the names but I can only remember first names, Joe on bass, Alex on pedal steel, Matt on drums, Ben on vocals, guitar, and fiddle. And Troy on guitar, but tonight it’ll be me.
